Construction of the synagogue began in 1957 under architect Nachum Zolotov's design, reaching its official inauguration in 1973 as a central religious institution.

The synagogue functions as a multi-denominational prayer center, hosting regular services and accommodating different Jewish traditions within the Beer Sheva community.

Regular prayer times include morning services at 5:35, 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, and 7:30, with afternoon services at 16:16 on weekdays and 13:30 on Fridays.

The structural design of the dome resulted from budget constraints, yet this limitation led to the creation of spatial concrete arches that define its architecture.
