Shibamata Taishakuten, Buddhist temple in Shibamata, Tokyo, Japan.

The temple complex features a main hall dedicated to Taishakuten, decorated with intricate wood carvings depicting stories from Buddhist scriptures.

Founded in 1629 by two Nichiren Buddhist monks, the temple gained prominence in the late 18th century when its ninth head priest promoted Taishakuten worship.

The temple appears in the long-running Japanese film series 'Otoko wa Tsurai yo,' which introduced this religious site to audiences across Japan.

Visitors can explore the Suikeien Garden and sculpture gallery by purchasing a combined admission ticket at the temple entrance.

The temple houses a wooden Taishakuten image, carved by Saint Nichiren himself, which remained hidden until its rediscovery during renovation work.
