Yamamoto-tei, Historic tea house in Shibamata, Japan.
The architectural structure combines traditional Japanese shoin-zukuri design with European elements, featuring tatami rooms and a carefully maintained garden within Shibamata Park.
The residence belonged to Yamamoto Einosuke, a camera parts manufacturer who relocated to this area following the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923.
The main living area functions as a tea room where visitors can experience traditional matcha service while viewing the garden through glass exterior walls.
Located at 7 Chome-19-32 Shibamata, the house opens daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with adult admission costing 400 yen.
The property includes a kura storage room with thick clay walls for protection against fire, and a Nagaya-mon gate that merges Western and Japanese designs.
