永光寺, Buddhist temple in Koga, Japan

Eikoji Temple stands within extensive grounds featuring traditional Japanese architecture and multiple prayer halls dedicated to Buddhist practices and meditation.

The temple traces its origins to 843 when Buddhist master Muzen established it as a center for Shingon Buddhist teachings and practices.

The temple maintains a strong connection to Buddhism through regular ceremonies, religious education programs, and the preservation of ancient Buddhist artifacts.

Located at 954 Ozaki, the temple includes an attached kindergarten and remains accessible via multiple bus stops within walking distance.

From April to May, the temple grounds transform into a flower sanctuary with large peony blooms, plum blossoms, cherry trees, and azaleas.
