Rudaminos piliakalnis, Ancient hillfort in Lazdijai Eldership, Lithuania.
The hillfort stands on an isolated hill reaching 195 meters above sea level and covers an area of 22.8 hectares near a former lake.
According to historians T. Narbutas and J. Basanavicius, Prince Ringaudas built Rudamina Castle at this site in 1240, where Mindaugas received his crown as King of Lithuania.
The hillfort serves as a gathering place for national celebration of Lithuanian Statehood Day on July 6, where participants sing the national anthem at 21:00.
Visitors can access the archaeological site through marked paths in Lazdijai District Municipality, with the site located at coordinates 54.2823333° N, 23.4414167° E.
The Teutonic Order destroyed the castle in 1381 using gunpowder bombardment weapons for the first time in a military assault in this region.
