Church of the Eucharistic Saviour, Kybartai

The Church of the Eucharistic Saviour is a brick sanctuary with three naves and vaulted ceilings that serves as a central religious structure in the Vilkaviškis diocese. The building displays neorenaissance style and incorporates traditional Lithuanian ecclesiastical design features throughout its construction.

The sanctuary was constructed between 1927 and 1928, replacing earlier religious structures that had served the community since the 16th century. Architect Vytautas Landsbergis-Žemkalnis designed the building during a period when many churches in the region were being renewed.

The name references the central Catholic sacrament of the Mass, and the interior layout shows how believers gather here for their spiritual practices. The space functions as a focal point where locals come together for celebrations and regular worship throughout the year.

The sanctuary welcomes visitors during regular worship services and accommodates community gatherings throughout the year. When visiting, plan to attend during service times and dress respectfully for the sacred space.

The building sustained damage during World War II but underwent careful restoration afterward, allowing it to continue serving as the town's central spiritual gathering place. This renewal enabled generations of residents to maintain their spiritual practices in the same location.
