Zutphen railway station

The railway complex includes a symmetrical structure made of reinforced concrete with a high concrete canopy supported by slender columns at its entrance.

Built in 1865 and reconstructed after World War II damage in 1952, the station was designed by architect H.G.J. Schelling using war rubble for concrete construction.

The station features artistic reliefs by Ben Guntenaar depicting abstract travel representations, along with a chandelier donated by the Zutphen municipality in 1952.

Three transport providers operate at the station, connecting routes to Zwolle, Deventer, Nijmegen, Roosendaal through six platform phases across three platform tracks.

Zutphen became the first Dutch station where travelers could depart in five different directions without passing through another station, starting from 1878.
