Voss Gondol, Gondola lift in Voss, Norway
Voss Gondol is a cable car system in Voss that lifts passengers from the valley floor to a high mountain station, spanning roughly two kilometers of terrain. The system operates modern cabins and brings visitors to the summit in under seven minutes.
The current system opened in 2019, replacing an earlier cable car that had served the area for many years. This upgrade brought substantial improvements to the ski resort's infrastructure.
From the top station, visitors find a restaurant serving typical Norwegian mountain food prepared with ingredients from the region, creating a dining spot where locals and guests gather to share meals with views of the surrounding peaks.
Plan to wear sturdy footwear when exploring the summit area, as conditions can shift quickly in the mountains. Once at the top, allow time for dining or simply walking around to take in the views.
The restaurant windows frame views of several mountain peaks in the surrounding landscape, including distinctive shapes like Gråsida and Hordnalsnuten. These panoramas become especially striking on clear days when multiple ridges appear along the horizon.
