Motorcenter Norway, Racing center in Sokndal, Norway
Motorcenter Norway is a racing facility in Sokndal with a 2.33-kilometer main circuit featuring 14 corners and elevation changes through mountain terrain. The complex includes pit garages, service buildings, and a versatile off-road training area designed for different vehicle types.
The facility opened in July 2021 following an 18-year development process. The project represented a major infrastructure investment for the region and attracted national attention.
The facility houses Norway's only indoor motocross track, which transforms into a venue for concerts and events during summer months. This dual use shows how the center serves multiple community needs beyond just racing.
The track is well organized with adequate parking and clear signage for visitors and participants. Visitors should expect mountain weather conditions and come prepared with appropriate clothing for the terrain.
The course follows an unusual counter-clockwise direction with a specialized corkscrew turn that sets it apart from many European racing tracks. This design feature requires drivers to approach and execute turns differently.
