Dintr-un lemn

Dintr-un Lemn is an Orthodox monastery in the village of Dezrobiți, consisting of multiple buildings including a wooden church and a stone church with traditional Romanian elements. The structures display ornate carvings and painted walls typical of the region's religious architecture.

The monastery was founded in the early 1500s and takes its name from a legend about a wooden chapel built from a single oak tree. Over the centuries, the complex grew as additional stone structures were added to support monastic life.

The monastery sits in a rural area and is best reached by car or taxi, as there are no direct public transportation options. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes since the grounds are hilly and accessing some areas requires walking.

The original wooden church features an iconostasis carved entirely from linden wood by craftsmen working in the early 1800s, a labor-intensive feat rarely seen in other similar structures. These detailed carvings represent the skill and dedication of artisans who worked on the monastery over generations.
