Troitsk

Troitsk is a city in Troitsk Urban Okrug in Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia. The center sits along the banks of the Uy River, surrounded by flat plains that stretch toward the border with Kazakhstan.

The fortress was founded in 1743 during the Bashkir conflicts to secure the southern territories of the Russian Empire. In the 19th century, it became an important trading post on the route to Central Asia.

The name comes from the Church of the Holy Trinity, which has stood on a central square for over two centuries. Visitors today see a place of worship with tall towers and golden domes that draws believers from across the region.

The city sits on a major railway line, and trains run daily to Chelyabinsk and across the border. Travelers find smaller hotels and cafés near the railway station.

A veterinary medicine academy trains specialists who work in livestock farming across the southern Ural region and Kazakhstan. This institution attracts students from several countries who want to learn a trade in the area.
