Strömsund Bridge

The Strömsund Bridge spans across the Ströms Vattudal river with a total length of 332 meters and a main span of 182 meters.

In 1953, German company Demag won an international competition to design the bridge, which opened its gates to traffic in September 1956.

The local population refers to the structure as Jämtland's Golden Gate, reflecting its status as a regional engineering landmark.

The bridge carries the European route E45 and measures 14.3 meters in width, accommodating vehicle traffic between both sides of Strömsund Municipality.

This structure stands as the first large cable-stayed bridge of modern design, featuring two cables attached at a single point on the tower.
