Parliament House, Legislative building in Downtown Core, Singapore
The Parliament House spans 2.2 hectares with a built-up area of 19,765 square meters, featuring three blocks and a restored colonial structure with grey facade.
The Parliament House opened in October 1999, replacing the previous assembly location due to space limitations caused by the increasing number of parliament members.
The ceremonial entrance displays the Parliament Crest on a curved granite wall, with two grand staircases leading to the main Chamber for legislative proceedings.
The building contains a 170-seat auditorium, meeting rooms, media facilities, dining areas, and an electronic voting system for efficient parliamentary decision-making.
The central courtyard, previously known as Hallpike Street, connects different sections of the complex while integrating historical elements with contemporary architecture.
