Parliament House

Parliament House is a legislative building in Downtown Core, Singapore, comprising three blocks with a restored colonial structure featuring a grey facade. Inside, the complex contains a chamber for lawmaking sessions, meeting spaces, and facilities for media and dining.

The building opened in 1999 after the number of parliament members grew too large for the previous location. The move to this new site provided the growing institution with adequate space.

The ceremonial entrance displays the Parliament Crest on a curved granite wall. Daily you see lawmakers and staff moving through corridors, using the spaces as their workplace.

Access to the building is typically limited, but occasional tours or public viewing sessions are available. It helps to check in advance which areas are open to visitors and when those times occur.

The central courtyard was once Hallpike Street and now connects different sections of the complex. This space interestingly blends historical elements with modern architecture on the grounds.
