Pa Sak Jolasid Dam, Embankment dam in Thailand
Pa Sak Jolasid Dam is the largest reservoir in central Thailand and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.
The construction of the Pa Sak Jolasid Dam began in 1994 and was completed in 1999, as a result of the collaboration between the Royal Irrigation Department and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.
This dam has become a popular tourist attraction due to its vast landscape that turns mauve during July and December when morning glory blooms.
Besides being a tourist aspect, it significantly helps in irrigation, water supply control, and preventing flooding downstream.
The name 'Pa Sak Jolasid' translates to 'dam of the revered teak forest', deriving from the large number of teak trees grown around the area.
