Maiden's Tower, Tower in Istanbul, Turkey
The Maiden's Tower, also known as Leander's Tower, stands on a small islet located at the southern entrance of the Bosphorus strait.
Originally built by the ancient Athenians, the tower has been rebuilt several times since the Byzantine era.
The tower is featured in many Turkish legends and has appeared in numerous works of Turkish literature.
Today, it serves as a popular tourist attraction, housing a café and a restaurant.
It's believed to be the site where Hero and Leander tragically met their end.
