Woodhenge, Henge in England
Woodhenge is a Neolithic henge enclosure discovered located 2 miles (3.2 km) north-east of Stonehenge, in the English county of Wiltshire.
It was discovered in 1925 and its existence was confirmed through aerial photographs.
Excavations showed that it had been used for ritual activities which included food, and also as a burial ground.
It is now under the care of English Heritage and open to the public free of charge.
Unlike other henges, Woodhenge was originally built with wooden posts instead of stones.
