Winfield House, Residence in London

Winfield House is the official residence of the United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Built in 1936, it was purchased by American heiress Barbara Hutton and later donated to the US government.

The house is named after Hutton's grandfather, Frank Winfield Woolworth, the founder of the famous Woolworth department store chain.

It is located in Regent's Park, London, and is second only to Buckingham Palace in terms of private garden size within central London.

The house contains valuable pieces of art and furniture, including a desk used by many US presidents.
