Trevose Head Lighthouse, Lighthouse and Grade II listed building on Trevose Head, Cornwall, England
The circular brick tower of Trevose Head Lighthouse rises 27 meters high, featuring a parapet walkway and lantern topped with a weathervane at its summit.
James Walker designed this lighthouse in 1847, with construction carried out by Jacob and Thomas Oliver and Sons of Falmouth to enhance maritime safety along the coast.
The lighthouse stands as a representation of Victorian maritime engineering, with two single-storey accommodation blocks that formerly housed the lighthouse keepers.
Visitors can reach the lighthouse through various walking paths near St Merryn, with different routes available according to walking experience and physical condition.
A fog horn signal was added to the lighthouse structure in 1882 to guide ships during poor weather conditions, enhancing its maritime safety capabilities.
