Great Orme, Hill and conservation site in Conwy County Borough, Wales

The Great Orme extends over two miles in length and one mile in width, rising 207 meters above sea level along the north coast of Wales.

Bronze Age miners extracted more than 1,700 tonnes of copper from the Great Orme using stone and bone tools between 1800 and 600 BC.

The name Great Orme originates from Norse seafarers who compared the headland's profile to a sea serpent rising from the waters.

Visitors can reach the summit via the Great Orme Tramway, a cable-drawn funicular railway that operates daily from March through October.

A herd of 200 Kashmiri goats maintains residence on the limestone cliffs since their introduction to the area in the 1800s.
