Bat's Castle

The fortification stands 213 meters above sea level and features two stone ramparts with ditches enclosing a subrectangular area of 140 by 100 meters.

Established between the Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age, this defensive structure remained active until the 4th century AD, as evidenced by discovered coins.

The site represents the advanced engineering capabilities of Iron Age communities, demonstrating their methods for settlement protection and territorial control.

Visitors can access the archaeological site through two entrances, with the western gate displaying preserved masonry and the eastern entrance featuring a raised platform.

Eight silver-plated coins dating from 102 BC to 350 AD were discovered by schoolboys in 1983, leading to three pieces being declared treasure trove.
