Buttrum's Mill, Woodbridge, Historic tower mill in Woodbridge, England
The six-story brick tower mill stands 61 feet tall with four patent sails spanning 70 feet, featuring an ogee cap and wooden gallery.
Built in 1836 by millwright John Whitmore, the mill operated until 1928 under different families, including the Trotts and Buttrums who managed grain production.
East Suffolk County Council acquired the lease in 1950 to preserve the structure as part of their collection of industrial heritage monuments.
Visitors can explore the mill during open periods on first and third Sundays from May to September, plus Easter weekends and National Mills Weekend.
The mill contains a functional speaking tube system connecting multiple floors and four pairs of millstones measuring 4 feet in diameter each.
