Carlyle's House, House museum in Chelsea, England.

The four-story Georgian townhouse at 24 Cheyne Row contains original furnishings, manuscripts, and personal belongings of Thomas Carlyle and his wife Jane.

Built in 1708, this residence became home to Scottish philosopher Thomas Carlyle in 1834 and remained so until his death in 1881.

The house functioned as a meeting place for Victorian intellectuals, including Charles Dickens and John Stuart Mill, who gathered to discuss literature and philosophy.

The National Trust maintains this Grade II listed building, offering guided tours through four floors of living spaces and a preserved garden.

A specialized soundproof study room was constructed on the top floor in 1854 for Carlyle to write his extensive work on Frederick the Great.
