Duke of York's Cinema, Movie theater and Grade II listed building in Brighton, England
The Duke of York's Picture House features a single screen with 278 seats and maintains traditional architectural elements from its original construction in 1910.
The cinema opened on September 22, 1910, commissioned by actress-manager Violet Melnotte-Wyatt for £3000 on the former site of the Amber Ale Brewery.
The venue screens a mix of first-run films, classic movies, and art-house selections while hosting the annual Cinecity Brighton Film Festival.
The cinema includes a café bar with terrace, opens 15 minutes before the first screening, and offers varied ticket pricing with family packages.
The building features 20-foot can-can dancer legs on its roof, transferred from the Not The Moulin Rouge Theatre in Oxford during 1991.
