The Kelpies, Sculptures in Scotland
The Kelpies are 30-meter-high horse-head sculptures, standing next to a new extension to the Forth and Clyde Canal in The Helix, a new parkland project built to connect 16 communities in the Falkirk Council Area, Scotland.
Designed by sculptor Andy Scott, The Kelpies were completed in October 2013 and opened to the public in April 2014.
The Kelpies represent the lineage of the heavy horse of Scottish industry and economy, pulling the wagons, ploughs, barges and coalships that shaped the geographical layout of the Falkirk area.
Visitors can take a tour inside the sculptures and learn about the history of The Kelpies and their role in Scottish heritage.
The Kelpies are the world's largest equine sculptures.
