The Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain is a Victorian memorial fountain topped with Anteros as 'the Angel of Christian Charity'.

It was built in 1892-1893 to commemorate the philanthropic works of Lord Shaftesbury.

The statue is commonly mistaken for Eros, but it actually represents his brother, Anteros.

The fountain is located in the heart of Piccadilly Circus, a popular tourist destination in London.

Despite its name, the fountain rarely functions as a water feature.
