Sgùrr Mòr, Mountain summit near Loch Quoich, Scotland
The 1003-meter-high Sgùrr Mòr stands between Loch Quoich and Glen Kingie, presenting steep slopes and rocky surfaces across its terrain.
The mountain received its Gaelic name, which translates to Great Peak, during the early mapping of the Scottish Highlands in the 18th century.
Scottish mountaineers recognize Sgùrr Mòr as one of the most remote Munros, requiring substantial navigation skills and physical preparation for ascent.
Access to Sgùrr Mòr requires driving to the parking area at Loch Arkaig's end, followed by a long approach through Glendessary to reach Glen Kingie.
The mountain's location offers no marked paths or escape routes, making it necessary for climbers to possess advanced navigation abilities in all weather conditions.
