Aberdeen Harbour, Commercial port in Aberdeen, Scotland
The Port of Aberdeen extends along the eastern coast of Scotland with 7,600 meters of quayside and deep water berthing facilities for large vessels.
King David I of Scotland established the port in 1136, granting the Bishops of Aberdeen permission to collect fees from visiting vessels.
The port maintains maritime traditions through regular exhibitions and demonstrations that showcase the connection between Aberdeen and North Sea industries.
The harbor provides specialized services for offshore energy operations, cargo handling, and cruise ships through its recently expanded South Harbor facility.
The Port of Aberdeen holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating business in the United Kingdom, spanning nearly 900 years.

Aberdeen and its region feature a series of sites that testify to several centuries of Scottish history. The city contains religious buildings such as the 14th-century St. Machar Cathedral, cultural institutions like the neoclassical Music Hall from 1822, and the Maritime Museum, as well as green spaces including Duthie Park with its botanical greenhouses. The port, active since the 12th century, remains an important center for maritime industry. A 3.5-kilometer sandy beach borders the North Sea, while the Footdee district retains its 19th-century fishing houses.
