Leaning Tower of Niles, Concrete replica tower in Niles, Illinois, United States
The tower rises 94 feet tall with a 7.4-foot lean, featuring reinforced concrete construction and decorative bells at its summit.
Robert Ilg commissioned the tower in 1934 as a water storage facility disguised as a half-size reproduction of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
The structure maintains strong ties with Pisa, Italy through a sister city relationship established in 1991 that promotes cultural exchanges.
Located at 6300 West Touhy Avenue, the tower received extensive renovations worth 1.2 million dollars to preserve its structural integrity.
Three of the five bells mounted in the tower were cast in Cavezzo, Italy, during the 17th and 18th centuries.
