Gibraltar, Renaissance Revival mansion in Wilmington, United States.

The Gibraltar estate features decorative details, symmetrical design elements, and a commanding position atop a rocky elevation at 2505 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Built around 1844 by John Rodney Brincklé, a grandnephew of Delaware's first governor, the estate underwent substantial renovations under Hugh Rodney Sharp's ownership in 1909.

Landscape architect Marian Cruger Coffin designed the formal gardens between 1916 and 1923, incorporating Italianate Beaux-Arts layouts with English garden plantings.

The gardens remain accessible to visitors from dawn until dusk without entrance fees, while the main building structure requires preservation efforts.

The property contains five contributing buildings and received its name from the elevated rocky outcrop that recalls the actual Rock of Gibraltar.
