Newport Cliff Walk, Walking trail in Rhode Island
The Newport Cliff Walk is a 3.5-mile public access walkway bordering the shoreline.
It was designated as a National Recreation Trail in 1975.
The walk combines the natural beauty of the Newport shoreline with the architectural history of Newport's gilded age.
Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for some rocky terrain.
Parts of the southern half of the trail are a rough trail over the natural, rugged New England rocky shore line.
