Saint Hans Church, Gothic church in central Odense, Denmark.
The red brick structure features horizontal decorations on the chancel wall and large Gothic windows with a step-ribbed tower reaching skyward.
The Knights Hospitaller established this church in 1295, initially naming it Saint Michael's Church before changing it to Saint Hans Church in 1329.
The external pulpit on the south side served for religious services dedicated to lepers and outcasts who could not enter the church building.
The church maintains regular opening hours and provides wheelchair access through designated entrances at Sankt Hans Plads 2 in Odense.
The church houses medieval nobility tombstones along its walls and displays Carl Bloch's 1879 painting 'Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane' at the altar.
