Kingo Houses, Residential complex in Helsingør, Denmark
The Kingo Houses development includes 60 L-shaped houses with individual courtyards, arranged across 6.5 hectares of landscaped terrain near Gurrevej road.
Danish architect Jørn Utzon designed and completed the Kingo Houses between 1956 and 1958, implementing his vision initially conceived for a project in Sweden.
The architectural design merges traditional Danish farmhouse elements with inspiration from Chinese and Islamic residential layouts, creating a harmonious living environment.
Each residence measures 15 by 15 meters and features two distinct wings - one for living spaces and another for sleeping quarters.
The natural landscape surrounding the houses includes constructed hills, a lake, and meadows maintained collectively by the resident community.
