Rønnebæksholm

Rønnebæksholm is a three-winged white manor house set within a large estate that now operates as a museum with exhibition areas, dining facilities, and learning spaces. The building maintains its original architecture while housing modern displays that guide visitors through its various collections and functions.

The property first appeared in records in 1321 when the Due family owned it, later passing to Queen Margaret I in 1399 through the Moltke family connection. This royal acquisition set the foundation for the estate's evolution from a private noble residence into its present role serving the public.

The manor now functions as a space for contemporary art shows and artist residencies, letting visitors experience modern works within historic rooms. The spaces reveal how this former noble estate has transformed into a venue where creativity unfolds across generations.

A separate pavilion from the mid-1800s stands in the southeast corner of the grounds, built in English Renaissance style and dedicated to poet Grundtvig.
