Vall Fosca, U-shaped valley in La Torre de Cabdella, Spain.

The Fosca Valley features vertical rock walls and a flat bottom, extending through the mountainous terrain of the Pallars Jussa region.

The construction of the first hydroelectric power station in 1914 transformed the valley into an essential energy production center for Catalonia.

The valley's inhabitants maintain the Pallares dialect of Catalan, which differs substantially from modern Catalan in its linguistic structure and vocabulary.

The Estany Gento cable car provides access to more than twenty mountain lakes connected by tunnels in the northern section of the valley.

The valley's position between steep mountains limits sunlight exposure, creating specific climate conditions that affect local agriculture and daily activities.
