Vall Fosca

Vall Fosca is a valley with steep rock walls on either side and a flat base running through the mountainous terrain of Pallars Jussa. The surrounding peaks frame the landscape with a distinctive U-shaped form created by ancient glaciers.

The valley was transformed in the early 1900s by the construction of a hydroelectric power station that made it a key energy source for Catalonia. This development marked a turning point in the region's economic importance and growth.
