The Coining House, Segovia, Royal mint in San Lorenzo, Segovia, Spain.
The Royal Mint of Segovia extends over 7,635 square meters along the Eresma River, featuring stone walls and hydraulic wheel mechanisms for coin production.
Built in 1583 under Philip II's orders, the mint introduced mechanized coin production to Spain through technology transferred from Austrian experts from Tyrol.
The mint represents Spanish industrial innovation as the first mechanized factory in the country, now preserved as a Bien de Interés Cultural monument.
Located on Calle la Moneda, the mint functions as a museum displaying historical coin production equipment and collections from different periods.
The building maintains its original 16th-century hydraulic wheel system, demonstrating early industrial engineering based on Leonardo da Vinci's concepts.
