Pi d'en Xandri, Historic stone pine tree in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Spain
This 23-meter-tall stone pine tree features a trunk measuring 3.20 meters in diameter and a crown spreading 21 meters wide.
Dating back to 1774, this ancient pine tree endured severe damage during the heavy snowfall of 1962 and survived a vandalism attack in 1997.
The regional government declared Pi d'en Xandri a protected heritage site in 1995, recognizing its importance to Sant Cugat del Vallès identity.
Visitors can reach the tree through a 4.4-kilometer hiking trail from Plaça Rotary, with picnic areas and recreational facilities nearby.
Conservation efforts included an innovative trunk injection technique to stimulate sap movement after the tree suffered fire damage from vandals.
