Hampstead Cemetery, Victorian cemetery in West Hampstead, England
The cemetery spans 26 acres of land, featuring Gothic style mortuary chapels connected by a porte-cochère and numerous Celtic crosses throughout the grounds.
Consecrated in November 1876 by the Bishop of London, this burial ground became the final resting place for approximately 60,000 individuals over the centuries.
The cemetery holds 216 Commonwealth service personnel graves from World War I and 44 from World War II, including memorials for Polish and Czech servicemen.
The cemetery grounds open every day with seasonal closing times, offering designated areas for cremated remains near the Fortune Green Road exit.
The northeastern section displays notable Art Deco stonemasonry, including the Bianchi monument with its sculptured female angel raising hands toward heaven.
