Queen's Cross Church, Aberdeen, Category A listed church building in west end business district, Aberdeen, Great Britain.
Queen's Cross Church is a Category A listed church building in west Aberdeen, located at the intersection of Carden Place and Albyn Place. The structure features stone construction with traditional ecclesiastical design and boundary walls that define the property.
The church opened in 1881 to serve the growing population in Aberdeen's western district. Rev. Walter C. Smith led the first service when the congregation was established.
The congregation made a forward-thinking decision in 1945 by welcoming women as Elders, a step that set it apart from many Scottish churches at that time. This progressive approach shaped how members participated in church life and decision-making.
The church sits near Aberdeen's main shopping districts and hotels, making it easily accessible by bus routes and on foot. The area offers straightforward navigation and convenient access for visitors.
In 2023, the church merged with three other congregations to form the new Fountainhall Church community. This consolidation marked a significant change after serving as an independent congregation for over a century.
