Killick's Mill, Meopham

Killick's Mill is a three-storey smock windmill in Meopham with a hexagonal shape built upon a two-storey brick base. The sails span about 27 feet (8 meters), and the mechanism contains multiple pairs of millstones plus a wooden brake wheel with cast iron parts for grain processing.

Built in 1801, this mill operated under the Killick family for many decades. The Norton family took over management after 1889 and continued grinding grain until the mill ceased operations in 1929.

The name comes from the Killick family who operated this mill for nearly a century. Today it stands as a memory of local milling tradition and the craftsmanship that once shaped the area.

The site is accessible to visitors and sits conveniently within walking distance of other local attractions. It is best explored on foot so you can properly appreciate the architectural details and condition of the structure.

The building once generated its own power for internal lighting using equipment inside the structure. It even appeared as a film location for a television series, showing how this working mill adapted to modern times.
