Nora

The ruins feature a Roman theater, thermal baths, ancient villas with floor mosaics, temples, and streets near the Mediterranean Sea coastline.

Founded by Phoenicians in the 8th century BC, Nora became a Roman municipality in the 1st century AD and reached its peak with 8000 inhabitants.

The Nora Stele, discovered at the site, represents the oldest written document in the Western Mediterranean and first mentions the name Sardinia.

The archaeological park opens daily from 10:00 to 16:30, offering guided tours through Roman streets, residential areas, and public buildings.

Parts of the ancient city now lie underwater due to coastal changes, allowing visitors to observe submerged Roman ruins through snorkeling activities.
