Sculpture Gallery of P. Struycken

The Sculpture Gallery extends through Grote Marktstraat, Kalvermarkt, and Spui, presenting forty sculptures by Dutch artists on identical oval pedestals with granite cores.

Peter Struycken initiated this outdoor sculpture collection in 1990 through Stroom Den Haag, marking the institution's first major sculpture initiative in the city.

The collection represents Dutch sculpture from the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, featuring works from established national artists and regional creators.

Bronze text plates near each sculpture provide information about the artists, while the pedestals measure 95 centimeters and support artworks up to 200 centimeters tall.

The sculptures rotate positions periodically under curator André Kruysen's direction, creating different arrangements between the Town Hall and Bijenkorf department store.
