Sculpture Gallery of P. Struycken, Sculpture trail in The Hague, Netherlands.
The Sculpture Gallery extends across three central streets and displays forty artworks on uniform pedestals with granite cores. The sculptures vary in form and material, while the standardized pedestals give each work a consistent presentation.
The project was initiated in 1990 by Peter Struycken through the institution Stroom Den Haag, marking its first major sculpture initiative. This founding laid the groundwork for art presentation in the city's public spaces.
The collection shows Dutch sculpture from modern and contemporary artists of different generations. As you walk through the streets, you can discover works by established names and emerging talents.
Bronze plaques beside each sculpture offer information about the artists and their works. The route connects all stations via public walkways and is easy to reach on foot.
The artworks are regularly repositioned to different locations under curatorial direction, so no visit is quite the same. This rotation lets the space change over time and allows different perspectives on the collection.
