Obrestad Lighthouse, Maritime lighthouse in Hå Municipality, Norway
The granite lighthouse stands at 16.5 meters tall on a moraine ridge extending to the North Sea along the southern Norwegian coast.
Built in 1873 as the first land-based lighthouse on the Jæren coast, Obrestad served as a crucial navigation point for ships until its automation in 1991.
The lighthouse basement contains murals painted by German soldiers during World War II, preserving a connection to wartime history along the Jæren coast.
The facility operates as a museum with permanent exhibitions and offers three separate housing units for overnight stays throughout the year.
The structure maintains its original Fresnel lens with square rotating components, distinguishing it from other Norwegian lighthouses.
