Nessundet bru

The Nessundet Bridge spans 289.6 meters across the water, connecting the mainland near Nes Church to Sund on Helgøya island through its steel construction.

Construction of the bridge and embankments started in 1952, leading to the official opening ceremony on November 23, 1957, establishing a vital transportation link.

The bridge serves as a central element in the daily life of Ringsaker residents, connecting communities and facilitating movement between the mainland and Helgøya.

Starting September 2023, the bridge operates under new weight restrictions of T8/40 class and implements a speed limit of 30 kilometers per hour.

The bridge features a main span of 100 meters and undergoes continuous monitoring to maintain structural integrity until the construction of a replacement bridge.
