Market Street Park, Urban park in Downtown Charlottesville, US
Market Street Park spans 1.04 acres of land bounded by Jefferson Street, First Street N.E., Market Street and Second Street N.E. in Charlottesville.
Paul Goodloe McIntire donated the land in 1917 to create the first public park within the City of Charlottesville for community gatherings.
The park serves as a central venue for multiple community events, including the Charlottesville Vegetarian Festival, Pride Celebration, and Dogwood Festival.
The park features concrete walkways, benches along the perimeter, trash receptacles, and remains open daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
The rectangular space contains xeriscape garden plantings and ornamental trees, including dogwoods and a weeping cherry throughout the grounds.
