Bishop's Palace, Lichfield, Grade I listed palace in Lichfield, England
The Bishop's Palace stands in the Cathedral Close with two stories, seven windows, and a low-pitched hipped roof featuring dormer windows.
The current palace, built in 1687 by architect Edward Pearse, replaced a medieval structure that was destroyed during the English Civil War.
The palace now houses the Lichfield Cathedral School, transforming from its original purpose as a residence for bishops until 1954.
The building maintains its Grade I listed status, ensuring the preservation of its architectural features and historical elements for future generations.
The medieval tower fragments and surrounding ditch remains in the rear garden connect the current structure to its ancient predecessor.
