Morgraig Castle, Medieval stone fortress in Lisvane, Wales.

The five-sided stone castle features a central square tower flanked by four round towers along the perimeter walls at 238 meters elevation.

Built in the mid-13th century, Morgraig Castle became obsolete after the construction of Caerphilly Castle in 1267 and was subsequently abandoned.

The castle represents the territorial conflicts between Welsh and English forces, with debates continuing about which side constructed the fortification.

Visitors can access the Grade II listed ruins via the A469 road, located one mile south of Caerphilly near the Traveller's Rest building.

The castle served as the defensive position for Llywelyn Bren's 1316 rebellion against royal authority before his eventual capture and execution.
