The church building displays late Decorated Gothic architecture with Kentish Ragstone exterior walls and features stained glass windows on multiple sides.
Thomas Cundy designed this Grade II listed structure in 1844, completing the construction alongside the development of Chester Square by the Grosvenor family.
The War Memorial Chapel, designed by Giles Gilbert Scott in 1920, contains wooden panels displaying 86 names of parishioners lost in World War I.

Arthur Sullivan, the renowned composer, served as the organist at St Michael's Church during the early 1860s, establishing a strong musical tradition.
