Ladestien

Ladestien is a hiking trail that circles the Lade Peninsula near Trondheim and stretches about 14 kilometers along the Trondheimsfjord. The route passes through varied landscapes, from flat coastal sections to gentle slopes, with frequent views of the water.

The path was developed to connect historical sites across the Lade region and make the landscape more accessible to visitors. It links locations like Leangen Manor and the Ringve Museum, which document the region's past.

Residents have used this route for generations as a place to spend time outdoors, reflecting how people here connect with nature as part of daily life.

The first section is flat and easy to walk, while later parts include gentle hills that require a bit more effort. Plan enough time and wear proper footwear, as the ground changes depending on weather and season.

The trail passes several natural swimming spots where the fjord water stays refreshingly cool even during warm months. These locations let walkers take a dip while experiencing the fjord landscape from a different perspective.
